By now I’m sure you are all wondering exactly what I’m planning on taking with me to school in Frankfurt. I thought I would post my complete packing list now then update you all when I weigh in to let you know the revised list.

I started this list months ago because I knew fitting my entire life into a 50 pound suitcase would be a serious challenge. I am already extremely glad that I did since I have been thinking of random things to add on a weekly basis. I’ve already begun paring down my wardrobe and preparing my kit(s) so that when the time comes to actually put things in my luggage, it’s as stress free as possible.

I’m allowed a standard 23 kg (50.7 lbs) for my checked luggage but only 6 kg (13.2 lbs) for my carry-on plus a personal item. It’s going to be tricky but I think it will work.

Chances are, you have noticed a few things missing! That is because I have a whole list planned ahead of time of things I will not be wasting space on in my bag, but rather, buying when I land. That list will be up on Wednesday and the opposite of that list (things I’m stocking up on before I leave) will be up Friday. Call it, the Week of Packing Prep, if you will. And you all thought I was exaggerating when I said I over-planned, didn’t you?
